Span Personal Lighting

I was inspired by the work of Santiago Calatrava (artist, engineer and architect) in designing this product for a number of reasons. I'm drawn to his clean composition and articulations drawn from natural forms. His breadth of knowledge gives him more options, often resulting in dramatic and surprising forms.

I'd never used jelutong before and was amazed by how well it worked. Having read further about the downside of this wood, though, I will be looking for alternative materials.
